A powerful open source, server-side, HTML embedded scripting language used to create dynamic Web pages. In an HTML document, PHP script (similar syntax to that of Perl or C ) is enclosed within special PHP tags. Because PHP is embedded within tags, we can jump between HTML and PHP instead of having to rely on heavy amounts of code to output HTML. PHP can perform any task that any CGI program can do, but its strength lays in its compatibility with many types of databases, most popularly MySQL.

MySQL has become the most popular open source relational database management system and the fastest growing database in the industry. This is based on its dedication to providing a less complicated solution suitable for widespread application deployment for the languages C, C++, Eiffel, Java, Perl, PHP and Python at a greatly reduced total cost of ownership.
